The Hollaback iPhone app is here!

Campaign to raise $25K ends in 11 days, make your end-of-year gift today!
The Hollaback movement is growing fast. In Philly, Los Angeles, San Jose, Rochester, France, Buenos Aires, Alberta, and Berlin young women, impacted by the daily reality of harassment in their communities, are ready and waiting to start Hollaback sites. But they need your support. Your gift will help provide them the training, community, and technology they need to get started. Donate today at my.ihollaback.org.

Meet Anna, the leader of HollabackFRANCE and Inti Maria, the leader of HollabackBUENOSAIRES. Hear them talk about why they want to start Hollaback sites:

Who are we?
Hollaback! is a crowd-sourced movement to end street harassment.  We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe and confident when they walk down the street.

Get ready to Hollaback!
We are proud to announce the launch of the Hollaback! iPhone app! The iPhone App gives us a response to street harassment that will be mapped and heard, transforming the isolating experience of street harassment into an opportunity to tell the world that street harassment is not OK.  To download it, clickhere. When you sign into the iPhone app, you will be given choice to Hollaback! with or without a picture, describing the type of harassment: verbal, flashing, groping, assault, or other. A GPS mapping feature automatically tracks where the harassment is taking place, and maps it on iHollaback.org.  Then, you’ll gets an email entitled “You Hollaback’ed!” where you are encouraged to tell the rest of your story when you are safely back at your computer. The iPhone app will pilot in the U.S., with plans to expand internationally.  A Droid app is scheduled to launch later this week.

This app was funded, designed, and built by some incredible people.  We want to give a special thank you to our 356 Kickstarter donors, our friends atRightRides and Orange Mico, and our volunteers Jill Dimond and Sophia Shoemaker.  We couldn’t have done this without you.

Sincerely,

Emily and the Hollaback! team
